Bridgeport Machine Rebuilders is always searching for Bridgeport milling machines to purchase, rebuild, and then resell with a 1-year warranty. Thirty-one percent of their business comes from reselling rebuilt Bridgeport Series I mills.
"Our company has purchased Bridgeport mills from all over the country and almost in any condition", said Colon Kelly (VP of Sales/Marketing). "We do ask a lot of questions, because the actual value is based on a certain criteria that we require."
For the purchasing department to even consider, it must meet the following:
They have purchased mills in all types of condition, but obviously the value decreases dramatically. The Bridgeport mill needs to be fully operational without adding cost to the complete rebuild cost, such as a bad motor, cracked castings, and missing parts.
"We can rebuild any Bridgeport mill, but if we have to replace a motor and a quill on a Bridgeport for resale, then you can see why it may not make sense to purchase that particular mill with those additional costs", said Steve Johnson (Machine Rebuilder).
If you’re selling a Bridgeport mill, just send some pictures and they just may be interested... in almost any condition.
